Silvertone/RCA RecordsBlues great Buddy Guy is offering fans a swig of “Cognac,” his brand-new song featuring two other guitar legends, Jeff Beck and The Rolling StonesKeith Richards. The track, which will appear on Guy’s upcoming album, The Blues Is Alive and Well, has just been released as a digital single and via streaming services.

You also can listen to the slow-burning blues tune at Guy’s official Vevo YouTube channel. The song finds Buddy singing about “getting drunk in style” by downing some of the classy-yet-potent spirit while reminiscing about his late pal, Muddy Waters.

Guy declares, “Can’t drink with me no more, Muddy, but I got Keith Richards,” and Richards then begins to solo. Buddy soon asks Beck to join in, and Jeff obliges with some fiery licks. Richards and Beck then trade some riffs.

The Blues Is Alive and Well, which will be released Friday, June 15, also features a guest appearance by Mick Jagger on a song called “You Did the Crime.” The album was produced by Guy’s longtime collaborator, Tom Hambridge, who also was behind the board for Buddy’s Grammy-winning albums Skin Deep and Born to Play Guitar.

Guy has North American tour dates lined up all the way into October. Visit BuddyGuy.net to check out his full itinerary.
