Andrew Beyer of Mountain Home pled guilty to a number of drug-related charges during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday. He was sentenced to six years probation and ordered to spend two years in one of the Community Correction Centers in the state.

The 33-year-old Beyer will participate in a therapeutic program in the CCC designed to help him deal with addiction problems.

Beyer was arrested January 19th after the car he was driving was stopped by a Mountain Home police officer. During the stop, a female passenger exited the vehicle and entered a convenience store. Beyer then sped off in the vehicle, hitting a parked vehicle.

The Mountain Home officer gave chase until Beyer’s vehicle hit a curb disabling the car. Beyer then attempted to flee on foot. The officers used a Taser to bring him under control.

Several drug-related items were located, including about 160 grams of marijuana, a substance field testing positive for methamphetamine, digital scales and Hydrocodone pills.

Another traffic stop involving Beyer was conducted in early February in the Midway area. As the officer was attempting to take Beyer in custody, he took off on foot. He was apprehended, cuffed and transported to the Baxter County Detention Center. Methamphetamine was found in the vehicle.
