More from the Road: Lynyrd Skynyrd extends farewell tour into December

Courtesy of Live NationEarlier this year, Lynyrd Skynyrd announced plans for a final trek, dubbed the Last of the Street Survivors Farewell Tour.  Initially set to wrap in September, the tour has now been extended into December.

There are 20 newly added dates, spanning from a September 28 performance in Rogers, Arkansas, through a December 8 concert in Biloxi, Mississippi. Tickets for the shows go on sale to the general public on June 15, while pre-sale tickets will be available starting Tuesday, June 12. Visit LynyrdSkynyrd.com for more details.

At most of the stops on the trek, Lynyrd Skynyrd will be joined by two or more support acts, although the openers for the newly added dates have yet to be revealed. Among the guest artists confirmed for select shows in June, July and August: J. Geils Band singer Peter Wolf, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Cheap Trick, 38 Special, ZZ Top, Hank Williams Jr., Foghat, The Charlie Daniels Band, The Marshall Tucker Band, Blackberry Smoke and Jamey Johnson.

Lynyrd Skynyrd will play a special homecoming show on September 2 in Jacksonville, Florida, with an expanded lineup of guests that so far includes Kid Rock, The Charlie Daniels Band, The Marshall Tucker Band, Blackberry Smoke and country star Jason Aldean.
