This year’s concert, auction and golf tournament raised $404,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Rodney Atkins also hosted his annual Music City Gives Back concert this week, where he raised money for Nashville’s W.O. Smith Music School. Big & Rich served as headliners while Rodney, Drew Baldridge, Travis Denning and Ashley McBryde performed.
Newcomer Abby Anderson has a fan in Katy Perry. The country singer told One Country on the 2018 CMT Music Awards red carpet that the pop star personally called her to tell her how much she liked “Make Him Wait,” her debut country single. “Miss Katy Perry called me,” Abby shared with the publication. “She heard ‘Make Him Wait’ and she called me up and told me she really loved the song. Now that’s pretty cool.”
