The trek gets underway July 7 in Indio, California, and is mapped out through a September 23 concert in Huntington, New York.

During the outing, McDonald will be part of a regular “yacht rock” extravaganza when he’s joined by two other great pop-rock voices of the late 1970s and ’80s — Kenny Loggins and Christopher Cross — at a July 13-14 stand at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. The three artists will be accompanied by the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra at both shows. McDonald and Loggins, of course, are longtime friends and collaborators who co-wrote the chart-topping Doobie Brothers classic “What a Fool Believes” and Kenny’s smash “This Is It.”

In addition, McDonald will perform with ex-Chicago singer/bassist Peter Cetera on August 22 at Wolf Trap in Vienna, Virginia.

Michael continues to promote his 2017 studio effort, Wide Open, his first new album of original material in 17 years.
