Four-day school weeks not an option for Arkansas schools

The Bakersfield School District is the latest in southern Missouri to switch to a four-day school week starting this fall. The move will mean students will be in class a little longer those four days, but the district will save money by not running busses one day a week plus electric and food costs will be cut.

So why aren’t schools in Arkansas doing the same thing? Mountain Home superintendent Dr. Jake Long says a state law makes it impractical.
