“Everything's” more than “Alright” for Kenny Chesney and David Lee Murphy as the duo sets multiple records

Reviver Records“Everything’s Gonna Be Alright” may be the title of this week’s #1 collaboration between David Lee Murphy and Kenny Chesney, but things are considerably more than alright for the duo, as they’ve also set multiple records with the feat.

The tune becomes Kenny’s 29th chart-topper, tying Tim McGraw’s record for the most number ones on Billboard’s Country Airplay ranking. If “Get Along” — which is currently at #8 — makes it to the top, Kenny will claim the all-time title.

Alan Jackson and George Strait are just behind Kenny and Tim, by the way, with 26 number ones apiece.

The lead single from David Lee’s No Zip Code album is also making the history books for the length of time between the singer’s number ones. Murphy last topped the tally with “Dust on the Bottle” on October 28, 1995: 22 years, five months and three weeks ago.

That time span between number ones beats everyone except Vince Gill, whose time between “Tryin’ to Get Over You” in 1994 and last year’s “Sober Saturday Night” with Chris Young was 23 years and one week.
