A legendary former St. Louis Cardinal manager will return to the Twin Lakes Area this weekend for a special event. North Arkansas Youth Center will welcome Baseball Hall of Famer Whitey Herzog and his wife, Mary Lou, to the Twin Lakes Baptist Church Hope Center Saturday evening at 5:00. The youth center in downtown Cotter was a recent recipient of a gift from the Herzogs.
Herzog was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2010. He guided the Cardinals to several National League pennants and the 1982 World Series championship.
Tickets are $25. Dinner will be catered by former Dinner Bell owners Bill and Judy Nazarenko. Various items will be auctioned including a signed painting of Herzog created by Duane Hada. Proceeds will go to fund a North Arkansas Youth Center Scholarship in the Herzogs’ honor to a local high school student.
