The Mountain Home 14-year-old Babe Ruth baseball team dominated in its opener of the North District Tournament Friday at the Equity Bank Sports Complex in Harrison. The Blue Storm routed Pea Ridge 17-4 on John Phillips Field.
Trent Jordan picked up the win as he pitched one inning, struck out two batters and gave up two hits and one run. Will Beckham led the Mountain Home offense with two hits, three runs and three RBIs; Reed Ellison provided two hits, scored two runs and drove in three more; Jackson Jones had two hits and three runs; July Stone finished with two hits, two runs and an RBI; and Keegan Rickman added a hit and three RBIs.
The Blue Storm is now one win away from playing for the district championship, and their next game is Saturday morning at 11:15 on Pippin Field.
