Michael Jackson‘s father and former manager, Joe Jackson, is reportedly suffering from terminal cancer.
The Jackson family patriarch has been suffering from the illness for some time, TMZ reports.
“He’s very frail,” Jermaine Jackson told The Daily Mail. “He doesn’t have long.” The website reports that initially, Joe Jackson, who lives in Las Vegas, refused visitors. However, on Tuesday, some family members, including his wife, Katherine — who lives apart from Joe — and daughter Rebbie were allowed to see him.
“No one knew what was going on,” Jermaine added. “We shouldn’t have to beg, plead, and argue to see our own father, especially at a time like this. We have been hurting.”
Jermaine continued, “We were not being told where he was and couldn’t get the full picture. Even from the doctor. My mother was worried sick.”
Joe Jackson is 89 years old. His 90th birthday is on July 26.
