Luckily, the high-def network AXS TV is here for you, offering up a whole day of your favorite stars singing Christmas songs in the middle of the year’s hottest season.
Yes, you heard that right: On July 28, the network is doing a star-studded “Christmas in July” programming event.
On that day, AXS TV will air 11 holiday concert specials, including Rod Stewart: Merry Christmas, Baby, Michael McDonald: This Christmas and Heart & Friends: Home for the Holidays from Benaroya Hall. The latter special features Heart’s Ann and Nancy Wilson joined by such special guests as Sammy Hagar, Richard Marx, Shawn Colvin and Train‘s Pat Monahan.
Other specials being screened include Chris Isaak Christmas, featuring a duet between Isaak and Stevie Nicks, and Jessica Simpson: Happy Christmas, which includes an appearance by Carly Simon. The programming block also features The Brian Setzer Orchestra‘s Christmas Rocks!, which finds the Stray Cats frontman and his big band putting their rocking swing takes on holiday classics.
The day is rounded out by yuletide specials from country stars Faith Hill and Jennifer Nettles, ’80s glam-metal group Twisted Sister and classical-influenced rockers Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
