Disney Channel/Image Group LAContrary to what some people might think, there is no rivalry between former American Idol winners Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood.
Kelly proved that once and for all when she posed for pictures with Carrie on the Radio Disney Music Awards red carpet on Friday.
“Everybody always tries to pit me and Carrie against each other,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “So, when I saw her I was like, ‘You know what? Let’s just end this right now and get a picture together because we are never in the same place.’”
She added, “[P]eople always try to put it together like we’re enemies. And I’m like, ‘We don’t even know each other well enough to be enemies.’ So, anyway, I went to get a picture and then everybody lost their mind.”
Kelly received the Icon Award at the ceremony from current American Idol champ Maddie Poppe, while Carrie was honored with the Hero Award, presented to her by former American Idol judge Randy Jackson.
