While performing at the Hollywood Bowl Tuesday night with his summer tour mate Cyndi Lauper, Rod Stewart didn’t just deliver the hits: He also delivered the news that he’s got a brand-new album coming out.

According to Billboard, Rod announced during the show that the new album will be called Blood Red Roses, and it’ll be out in September.  He also debuted a new song from the record, titled “Hole in My Heart,” which he said was inspired by his dating adventures when he was in his twenties.  The previous night at the same venue, Billboard reports, Rod played another new song, called “Grace.”

During the show, Rod and Cyndi duetted on the Muddy Waters song “Rollin’ and Tumblin'” but when Cyndi asked Rod about the fact that he’d recorded the song for his new album, he wouldn’t confirm it, hedging, “We have so many tracks, I don’t know yet.”

Blood Red Roses will be the follow-up to Rod’s 2015 album, Another Country.

Following the two shows at the Hollywood Bowl, Rod and Cyndi’s tour starts in earnest July 24 in Hollywood, Florida and runs through September 1, wrapping up in Auburn, WA.  Starting September 8, Rod will resume his Las Vegas residency show, The Hits, at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
