Courtesy of MSO PR; Gottlieb Bros.As part of its 50th anniversary celebrations, Yes will welcome back one of its former members, singer Trevor Horn, when the prog-rock band plays its previously announced July 20-21 stand at The Fillmore in Philadelphia.

Horn also will take part in the YesFanFest — 50 True Summers fan convention that will be held June 21 at The Foundry in Philadelphia.

Horn was a member of New Wave act The Buggles when he and his band mate, keyboardist Geoff Downes, joined the Yes lineup in 1980 for the Drama album.

Yes temporarily disbanded in 1981 and re-formed without Horn and Downes, although Trevor went on to produce the group’s multiplatinum 1983 album, 90125, and co-produced its 1987 follow-up, Big Generator. Horn also produced Yes’ 2011 studio effort, Fly from Here, which saw the return of Downes to band’s lineup.

Speaking of that album, a new version of Fly from Here, titled Fly from Here — Return Trip, was released in March that features new lead vocals by Horn, replacing those originally recorded by ex-Yes singer Benoit David.

The re-imagined record also includes a previously unreleased track called “Don’t Take No for an Answer,” which features guitarist Steve Howe on lead vocals, and the full-length version of the song “Hour of Need,” that previously was only available as a bonus track in Japan.

Horn also made guest appearances with Yes earlier this year in London and Paris during the European leg of its 50th anniversary tour.

The U.S. leg of Yes’ 50th anniversary tour continues tonight in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and is mapped out through a July 28 concert in Atlanta. Founding Yes keyboardist Tony Kaye is appearing as a special guest of the group at all dates on the trek.
