LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) _ The Arkansas Department of Education has released test results for the ACT Aspire and ACT exams, which largely show students demonstrating small growth or holding steady in English language arts and STEM.

The department said the ACT Aspire results, which were released on Monday, show that compared to 2017, the percent of Arkansas students in grades 3 through 10 “at or above ready” in English and reading either held steady or increased for all grades except 6, 9, and 10.

Students at or above ready in math and science were more varied, with downward trends in grades 4 through 7 in math and science, plus grade 10 in science.

The average ACT score remained unchanged this year, with 14 percent of students meeting benchmarks in reading, English, math, and science.
