A Mountain Home woman, 33-year-old Amelia Pittaway, is facing 15 charges following her arrest early Friday morning in Gassville. A passenger in the vehicle she was driving, 35-year-old Travis Langston of Calico Rock, is facing four charges. Their criminal offenses involve possession of drugs and firearms.

According to the probable cause affidavit, the two were observed shortly after midnight traveling in a vehicle with non-working license plate and third brake lights. Following a traffic stop, the Gassville officer recognized Langston and observed Pittaway with hands shaking uncontrollably, sweating, and avoiding eye contact.

Pittaway told the officer she did not have identification with her and told him she was Jasmine Popp. A check with the national and state crime information center databases for the name Jasmine Popp showed an image of a woman completely different from Pittaway’s. When confronted, Pittaway provided her real name. A follow-up database check revealed Pittaway had a suspended driver’s license and several warrants for her arrest.

When the officer attempted to place Pittaway under arrest, she said please no, turned and started to run toward the house along Highway 62 West. The officer caught the Mountain Home woman who continued to resist arrest until threatened with tasing.

A search of the vehicle revealed 1.6 grams of suspected methamphetamine field testing positive, various items of drug paraphernalia and a .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun, along with one 10-round loaded magazine and 41 rounds of loose ammunition for the weapon.

The two face felony charges of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms. Langston also faces a felony charge of possession of a firearm by certain persons, meaning he is a convicted felon.
Pittaway also faces five charges of failure to appear, a probation violation, resisting arrest and fleeing, as well as four other misdemeanor counts.

Pittaway’s bond was set at $17,395, according to online jail records. Langston is being held on a no-bond parole violation hold.
