Law enforcement agencies across Baxter and Marion counties have been inundated with reports over the past week of thieves entering unlocked vehicles during the evening hours.
Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery, appearing on KTLO-FM’s Talk of the Town with host Kim Szecsi, says there is a common thread among the breaking or entering vehicle incidents.
Listen:
Sheriff Montgomery says locking vehicles does not mean thieves will not break a window for entry, but he says such actions are rare.
Montgomery speculates there will also be a common thread for the reason the vehicles are being entered.
Listen:
Montgomery says not only will repeat offenders be involved, but the individuals will have drug-related criminal records.
