2-vehicle accident results in injuries, citations

A Friday afternoon two-vehicle collision resulted in injuries to a Gassville woman and possible injuries to a Midway man. According to the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, 52-year-old Sheri Curtis of Gassville and 64-year-old Michael Sheets of Midway were transported by ambulance to Baxter Regional Medical Center from the accident scene at Arkansas Highway 126 North and Loriann Drive.

Sheets was reportedly traveling southbound on Highway 126 between Midway and Whiteville when a car driven by Curtis was attempting to make a left turn onto the highway from Loriann Drive. According to a witness statement, Curtis’ car t-boned Sheets’ SUV on the driver’s side. Both vehicles ended up on Davidson Lane on the other side of Highway 126.

Curtis was cited for failure to yield and no proof of insurance in the 4:39 p.m. accident. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $2,000.
