MH girls gets hole-in-one; Greenwood resident wins Chuck Morton

The Arkansas State Golf Association’s annual Chuck Morton Junior Memorial wrapped up Friday at Big Creek Golf and Country Club with a local resident getting a hole-in-one. Mountain Home’s Reagon Webb aced the Par-3 Hole 6 during the final round and finished with a two-day total of 242 to take the girls’ 12-to-13 age group.

Evan Griffith of Greenwood ended up as the boys’ overall winner as he led 16-to-18-year-old boys with a nine-under-par 135. Among the area residents in the age group, Landon Rothgeb of West Plains finished 28th, and Mountain Home’s Zach Willingham ended up 30th.

In the boys’ 14-to-15 division, Palmer McSpadden of Fayetteville beat Paragould’s Simon McBride in the tiebreaker as both had an even-par 144. Nicholas Thiel of Harrison ended up seventh, and Gaige Chaney of Calico Rock finished eighth.

The boys’ 10-to-11 age group went to Hudson Lindsey of Flippin. Lindsey’s two-day total was 93.

The girls’ overall title went to Maumelle’s Josie Roberson after she topped the girls’ 16-to-18 leaderbord with a two-day mark of 153. Also in the division, Mountain Home’s Sydney Czanstkowski and Kenzie Collins finished third and fourth respectively, and Thea Norcross of Harrison took seventh place.

Anna Rechtin of Fayetteville was the winner of the girls’ 14-to-15 age group. Rechtin’s two-day total was 162.
