Courtesy of The Doobie BrothersThe Doobie Brothers have announced two historic New York City concerts this fall marking the first time that the band will play any of its albums in their entirety during a show. The performances will be held at the Beacon Theatre on November 15 and 16, and The Doobies will play 1972’s Toulouse Street at the first concert and 1973’s The Captain and Me at the second.

The group also will play select hits from throughout its long career at both shows. The concerts will be the band’s first performances at the Beacon Theatre in 25 years.

Toulouse Street, The Doobie Brothers’ second album, features the band’s first two top 40 hits — “Listen to the Music” and a cover of the 1966 gospel tune “Jesus Is Just Alright,” which reached #11 and #35, respectively, on the Billboard Hot 100. The record, which also includes the classic-rock staple “Rockin’ Down the Highway,” peaked at #21 on the Billboard 200 and has sold more than 1 million copies in the U.S.

The Captain and Me, the follow-up to Toulouse Street, features two of the group’s most enduring hits, “China Grove” and “Long Train Runnin’,” which landed at #8 and #15 on the Hot 100. The album peaked at #7 on the Billboard 200 and has sold over 2 million copies in the States.

“We are excited to be returning to The Beacon Theatre and to have the chance to perform these albums for our fans in such an intimate setting,” The Doobie Brothers say in a joint statement.

Tickets for the concerts will go on sale to the general public on Monday, July 23. American Express card members will be able to buy pre-sale tickets starting Wednesday, July 18.
