Gassville police have arrested a Marion County man believed to be responsible for a long string of vehicle break-ins in two counties for the last two months. Gassville Police Chief Tim Mayfield says 24-year-old Tyler Ray Rivera of Flippin was arrested Wednesday.

Mayfield says they received information about a vehicle been burned in Marion County matching the description of a van used to pick up Rivera, after he allegedly broke into vehicles. Mayfield says Captain Everett Uchtman went to the scene where the van was discovered and recognized items in the van having been reported stolen.

Mayfield says video surveillance from several homeowners helped authorities develop Rivera as a suspect in the break-ins. Mayfield says the thefts have been reported in Gassville, Mountain Home, Flippin and other locations in Baxter and Marion counties.

Rivera is being held on a parole violation at the Baxter County Detention Center, but Mayfield says charges from multiple agencies are expected to be filed against Rivera, and the investigation is continuing.
