The city of Yellville has been recognized for two achievements.

The Harrison Daily Times reports The Arkansas Municipal League (AML) has designated Yellville as a Four Star Municipality. According to the AML, “the award is presented annually to municipalities that have demonstrated excellence in loss control.”

Mayor Shawn Lane gave credit for the award to City Clerk Melissa Dorsey for her management of the city’s employee health programs. Only six of these awards are made each year statewide.

Additionally, The Arkansas Coalition for Obesity Prevention (ARCOP) has recognized Yellville for supporting physical activity by developing the city’s parks and recreation facilities.
