Slater Goodson The opening weekend of Lady Antebellum’s Summer Plays On Tour with Darius Rucker not only boasted an encore where everyone sang the Hootie & the Blowfish hit, “Hold My Hand,” it also included a special performance from Hillary Scott’s five-year-old daughter Eisele.

“We’ve been itching to get back on the road with Darius for a while now and we couldn’t have asked for a better opening run.” Dave Haywood says. “You could just feel the energy between all the bands, crews and fans. The crowds made a lasting impression on us and we can already tell there are a lot of memories to be made this year.”
Darius agrees: “If the rest of the shows are as much fun as this past weekend, we’re in for a great summer!”
During Darius’ set, Charles Kelley joined him to sing their current collaborative single, “Straight to Hell,” which also features Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean.
Lady A added a cover of Keith Urban’s 2003 hit “Raining on Sunday” to their set, which was filled with hits like “Heart Break” and “Need You Now.” Fun fact: The original 1999 version of “Raining on Sunday,” written by Radney Foster, featured Darius on backing vocals.
In all, the evening offered more than 20 number ones between the two headliners.
This week, the trek hits Bethel, New York; Gilford, New Hampshire; and Hartford, Connecticut, with “Yours” hitmaker Russell Dickerson opening the dates.
