An Arizona man was arrested Saturday evening following a high-speed chase that began near Flippin and ended in Mountain Home. According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, 32-year-old Weston Robertson of Sierra Vista is currently an inmate in the Marion County Detention Center on multiple charges.

An Arkansas State Trooper was reportedly transporting a suspect he arrested shortly after 5:00 Saturday evening when he observed a silver pickup truck doing donuts in a business parking lot west of Flippin on U.S. Highway 62. The trooper contacted the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and advised them of the incident. A deputy responded and could not initially locate the truck. The deputy later spotted a truck matching the description at the intersection of Highway 62 and Marion County Road 7055. When a traffic stop was attempted, the truck allegedly sped up, and the deputy chased the truck traveling east on the highway.

The chase continued into Mountain Home where Baxter County Sheriff’s deputies laid down spike strips. Two of the truck’s tires were punctured as a result, but the truck continued into the city and turned right onto 8th Street. The chase reportedly ended after the truck slammed into a curb at 8th and Bryant Streets. The suspect was removed from the vehicle and was later identified as Robertson. A deputy says Robertson was uncooperative as he was booked into the Marion County Detention Center.

Robertson is charged with theft of a vehicle, felony fleeing, driving while intoxicated, no driver’s license, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, careless driving, refusal to submit to a blood alcohol test, no seat belt, driving left of center, improper lane change, running a stop light and failure to maintain control. His bond is set at $26,190, and he also has a hold for Baxter County.
