Blue Chair/Warner Bros. NashvilleKenny Chesney’s got a lot to celebrate: His new album Songs for the Saints album has hit #1 on the iTunes chart, and he broke his own attendance record in Chicago. More than 52,000 fans turned out Saturday to see the superstar singer’s sold-out show at Soldiers Field.

Since its release on Friday, Songs for the Saints has also racked up 70,000 album streaming equivalent units, setting it up for a big debut on the Billboard chart next week.

Even though the album focuses on how last year’s devastating hurricanes affected Kenny’s second home, the Virgin Islands, he believes the new collection offers hope for us all.

“I think all of us face challenges,” he says, “and these songs are meant to get you through whatever those things are. But Songs for the Saints is also a project where, not only do you get 11 songs to get you through your struggles, you get [guest stars] Ziggy MarleyJimmy Buffett and Mindy Smith standing with us.”

All the proceeds from the record will go to help the islands rebuild.

Kenny will start his day Tuesday by chatting with ABC’s Robin Roberts on Good Morning America and performing the track “Better Boat.” You can watch the show starting at 7 a.m. on ABC.

Kenny will end his day by performing his two-week #1 “Get Along” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, which airs at 11:35 p.m. ET on NBC.
