ABC/Image Group LA The Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame will give Reba McEntire its first-ever Career Maker Award this fall during the organization’s 48th Anniversary Gala.

The honor was designed to recognize an artist who’s not a Songwriters Hall of Fame member, but who’s made a significant contribution to the careers of the writers who’ve been inducted.

“The songwriters in this community have never let me down,” Reba says, “and have always shared their very best songs with me, which I appreciate more than they know.”

“Being the first recipient of the Career Maker Award means so much to me,” she adds, “because it’s an award from the songwriters whose songs have helped me create and maintain a career I love. I thank them from the bottom of my heart.”

Throughout the course of her career, Reba has recorded 80 songs by 40 of the songwriters who are in the Hall of Fame. Of those 80 tunes, 33 have been singles.

Reba will receive the award Sunday, October 28 at Nashville’s Music City Center.
