State Supreme Court candidate to speak to Baxter County Republican Committee

A candidate for the Arkansas Supreme Court will be in the Twin Lakes Area Tuesday evening. David Sterling will be the featured speaker during the Baxter County Republican Committee’s monthly meeting at 6:00 at Western Sizzlin’ in Mountain Home.

Sterling is currently the chief counsel for the Arkansas Department of Human Services after being appointed by Governor Asa Hutchinson in 2015. Sterling supervises nearly 75 attorneys scattered across Arkansas, and he has primary responsibility for the state government’s largest legal department.

Prior to his appointment, Sterling practiced business, commercial and contract law at his own North Little Rock firm. He has 20 years of legal experience and has been recognized by his peers for high legal ability and ethical standards.

Sterling also served as the assistant city manager of Hope from 1997 to 1998. He holds a master’s degree in public administration and a law degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He is also a member of the Christian Legal Society, the Federalist Society and the National Rifle Association.

Those planning to attend Tuesday night’s meeting are invited to arrive early and share a Dutch treat meal.
