The theft of a relative’s truck has landed a Mountain Home man back in jail. Twenty-three-year-old Joseph William Rowden was arrested late Tuesday night in connection with the theft and for other warrants.

The arrest affidavit indicates the family member contacted the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office last Thursday saying Rowden had stolen his truck and did not have permission to drive it.

A witness reported seeing the truck being driven in the area of Highway 201 North and County Road 28. The vehicle was located a short time later in the back parking lot of Baxter Lab and returned to the owner.

Rowden, who has four felony convictions and one pending, is charged with a felony count of theft of property, enhanced penalties for being a habitual offender, two counts of non-payment of fines and failure to appear. He is being held in the Baxter County Detention Center on bonds totaling $12,095.
