The Baxter County Clerk’s office reported four new municipal filings on Monday, but a long-time seatholder has announced this year will be his last as a city alderman.
Rick Peglar has decided not to seek re-election to the Ward 1, Position 2 seat on the Gassville City Council. Peglar also announced he will not serve beyond the current term if no one applies for the position. He has served on the council for 25 years.
Monday’s filings in Baxter County include three positions on the Cotter City Council. Kerry Ann White will run for Ward 1, Position 2; Richard Gipson will seek Ward 3, Position 1; and Cameron Ross will look to become the alderman for Ward 3, Position 2.
The other filing is from an incumbent on the Lakeview City Council. Lindley Reubin is seeking re-election to Ward 1, Position 2.
The filing period closes August 17th at noon.
