Gubernatorial candidate unveils teacher pay plan

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) – Democratic gubernatorial candidate Jared Henderson has
said he plans to raise minimum pay for teachers by an initial 10 percent with
the ultimate goal of making Arkansas teachers the highest paid in the nation
adjusted for cost of living.In a press conference Thursday, Henderson said after the initial 10 percent raise, his plan calls for 3.6 percent salary increases for nine subsequent years.
