A home in the Oakland area was a total loss Thursday following an early evening fire. Oakland/Promise Land Fire Chief Ron Everroad says the fire at 1590 County Road 16 may be related to storms quickly moving through the Twin Lakes Area.
The fire was reported by a passerby and was fully engulfed when emergency personnel arrived.
Chief Everroad says no one was at home at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported.
He says the residence is owned by Sheri Cowart and her husband.
Everroad says the department responded with one engine, four tankers and 10 firefighters and were on the scene about four and a half hours. They were assisted by the Clarkridge Fire Department.
