MH grabs 2nd win in Babe Ruth World Series

As Mountain Home continues to host the Babe Ruth 13-Year-Old World Series at McClain Park, the host team is undefeated through the first two days. Mountain Home picked up its second win of division play Friday as they shut out Greater Portland, Maine, 2-0.

Christopher Lindenmeyer was credited with the victory after pitching five innings, striking out five batters and giving up three hits and one walk. Offensively for Mountain Home, Douglas James had a double and a run, and Isaac House walked once, stole a base and scored the other run.

Mountain Home improves to 2-0 in the American Division. Greater Portland drops to 0-2.

Harrison suffered its second loss in the tournament after falling to Five Cities, California, by a final of 13-3. The North Arkansas state champions drop to 0-2 in the National Division.

In Friday’s earlier games, Broomall-Newtown, Pennsylvania, edged out West Louisville, Kentucky, 4-3, and West Linn, Oregon, squeaked by Greenville, North Carolina, 5-4.
