Two Harrison residents are among 18 Governor Asa Hutchinson says he intends to pardon. There is a 30-day waiting period to receive public feedback on the notices before final action is taken.Kandy Choate of Harrison was convicted in 1997 and 1998 in Marion County Circuit Court in connection with felony counts of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia, along with two misdemeanor drug offenses.

Bradley McLean of Harrison was convicted in 2002 in Boone and Washington counties in connection with felony counts of criminal attempt to manufacture a controlled substance, methamphetamine; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

In both cases, the notices of the intent to pardon are based on the date of conviction, all terms of the applicants’ sentences having been completed and there having been no further criminal-law violations.

While there are no law enforcement objections in Choate’s pardon application, the Washington County prosecutor has raised objections to McLean’s application.
