Harrison man among 1st round leaders at ASGA Designated Stroke Play Championship

The Arkansas State Golf Association Designated Stroke Play Championship began its two-day run Saturday at Big Creek Golf and Country Club, and an area resident is among the first round leaders.

Jackson Marseilles of Harrison is tied with Nick Crisco of Sherwood for the lead in the open division after both shot a two-under-par 70. Dylan Smith of Melbourne is currently in eighth place with an 81.

Matt Margolis of Jonesboro is at the top of the mid-senior leaderboard. Margolis finished the first round with a 76.

Bev Hargraves of Little Rock leads the senior division with an eight-under-par 64. Mountain Home’s Michael Cole is in a tie for 12th place with an 83.

The first round leader of the super senior division is Dill Gunn of Greenbrier. Gunn went back to the clubhouse Saturday with a six-under-par 66.
