MH suffers 1st loss in Babe Ruth World Series

The third day of the Babe Ruth 13-Year-Old World Series is in the books at Mountain Home, and the host team suffered its first loss of the tournament. Mountain Home was edged out Saturday night by West Louisville, Kentucky, 5-4.

Cody Lance led the Mountain Home offense with two hits, a run and a stolen base; Colin Beam had a double and an RBI; Dillon Drewry provided a hit, a walk, a stolen base and a run; Jacob Czantskowski added a hit, a walk and an RBI.

Mountain Home drops to 2-1 in the American Division, and they’re off until Monday when they wrap up division play against Broomall-Newtown, Pennsylvania. West Louisville improves to 1-2.

Harrison did not fare any better on Saturday as they lost to Eagle Pass, Texas, 13-0. The North Arkansas state champions drop to 0-3 in the National Division.

In the earlier games, Broomall-Newtown defeated Bemidji, Minnesota, 8-2, and Five Cities, California, won a high-scoring game over West Linn, Oregon, by a final of 11-9.
