California team wins wild Babe Ruth World Series title game

In a wild finish Thursday night at Pitts Field at McClain Park in Mountain Home, Five Cities, California won the 13-year-old Babe Ruth World Series over Eagle Pass, Texas.

Eagle Pass took a 6-5 lead into the bottom of the seventh inning after taking the lead on a throwing error. But in the bottom of the seventh, Five Cities tied the game and then a throwing error by Eagle Pass allowed the winning run to score.

Five Cities lost their first game of the series to Eagle Pass then reeled off six wins in a row to capture the title.
