COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) _ Prosecutors say a man already charged with trying to shoot a
sheriff’s deputy in southwest Missouri is now charged in a Columbia homicide.

The Columbia Missourian reports Jason Roy Anderson is charged with first-degree
murder and armed criminal action in the June shooting death of 34-year-old
Elise’ise McNeal.

Investigators found McNeal dead in a Columbia home when they were following up
on a report of stolen guns and ammunition.

The day before McNeal was found, Christian County deputies reported finding 53
guns and about 5,000 rounds of ammunition in Anderson’s car after he was pulled
over for driving up to 100 mph.

Anderson is facing six felony charges in Christian County after authorities say
he tried to shoot a deputy during that traffic stop. The officer wasn’t injured
after Anderson’s gun apparently jammed.
