LEAWOOD, Kan. (AP) _ A Missouri man is suing after he was mistakenly diagnosed
with an aggressive form of cancer and began planning his funeral.

The Kansas City Star reports 52-year-old Pasquale Michael Fatino, of
Pleasant Hill, filed the lawsuit against three doctors at ProPartners
Healthcare, his former primary care clinic in Leawood, Kansas. He says their
misdiagnosis caused him and his family, including his 12- and 13 year-old
children, unnecessary pain and suffering last year before a specialist told him
he didn’t have a terminal cancer of his lungs and liver. The specialist said he
probably had an inflammatory disease called sarcoidosis, which could be treated
with a common steroid.

An employee reached by phone at the clinic said they could not comment on
Fatino’s case because of the pending litigation.
