Sony Look for a new record from Pistol Annies in the fall, according to a new interview with Miranda Lambert in TIME.

“Something about being together makes us a force to be reckoned with,” she says of her collaboration with Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley.

“We can get more raw and rugged than we would alone,” she adds. “I think it’s the best writing we’ve ever done. We’ve lived a lot of life since our last record. I think it’s three girls telling our story very bravely.”

Pistol Annies’ most recent album, Annie Up, came out more than five years ago, in the spring of 2013.

Miranda also talks to TIME about the lack of female artists being played on country radio these days.

“For the past couple of years it’s been skewed one way: a lack of women and songs with content from women’s perspectives,” she explains. “When Carrie [Underwood] and I first came on the scene, there was this whole generation of women before us. Over the past three or four years, it has been very male-driven.”

“But I feel like it’s starting to shift and people are starting to pay attention to women again,” she points out, “which is great, because I think it should be a good balance.”

Thursday night, Miranda kicks off her final weekend on The Bandwagon Tour with Little Big Town, with a stop in Toronto, Canada. The trek continues on to Clarkston, Michigan and Tinley Park, Illinois, before wrapping on Saturday.
