A Stone County man reported missing over the weekend was found safe on Wednesday. According to Stone County Sheriff Lance Bonds, 75-year-old Clarence Adams was located by deputies following a 9-1-1 call by his grandson.
Sheriff Bonds says Adams was driving home Sunday night in a severe storm. He reportedly drove past his street, turned into the woods and went down a 40-foot embankment off Arkansas Highway 5 North. Adams was not injured, but he was unable to walk up the embankment to the highway.
Adams’ grandson walked reportedly Highway 5 Wednesday and observed a reflection of a windshield in the woods. He called 9-1-1, and deputies located Adams a short time later. Sheriff Bonds says Adams was in good spirits and evaluated by medical staff.
