SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) _ A southwest Missouri high school principal has agreed
to resign as part of a financial settlement after allegations of inappropriate
conduct resurfaced.

The Springfield News-Leader reports it obtained a copy of the settlement
between former Seymour High School principal Brian Wilbanks and the Webster
County district through a records request. It said he was paid $30,000 in
exchange for stepping down.

Attorney Jay Kirksey confirmed earlier this year an English teacher at the
high school made an allegation of sexual harassment against Wilbanks in May
2017. Wilbanks was placed on administrative leave nine month later in February
after the allegations resurfaced.

Wilbanks alleged in his resignation letter two district officials kept
their jobs despite bullying students and staff. Wilbanks didn’t return calls
seeking comment.
