Broken BowJason Aldean’s currently spending his second week at #1 with his collaboration with Miranda Lambert, “Drowns the Whiskey.”

After his chart-topping duet with Kelly Clarkson in 2010, the three-time ACM Entertainer of the Year realizes the bar was set pretty high, when it comes to teaming up with female singers.

“Yeah, I kinda just, I didn’t know where to go from there…” he laughs. “That was a big one.”

But Jason says there was no doubt Miranda was up to the task.

“The thing with Miranda, she’s a great harmony singer,” he explains. “She doesn’t sing it technically perfect, which I like, but she’s so stylistic in the way that she sings it that it just sounds great. And her voice blends with mine really well, and we just sound good together.”

Jason believes it’s Miranda’s magic touch that turned “Drowns the Whiskey” into a smash.

“You know, I was really glad that she agreed to be on the record,” he tells ABC Radio. “And she took what was already a great song and sorta sent it over the top.”

“Drowns the Whiskey” is the 21st #1 of Jason’s career.
