ABC/Image Group LA Starting today, Dierks Bentley‘s inaugural Seven Peaks Festival takes over the town of Buena Vista, Colorado.

A diverse array of talent will join him, ranging from stars like Miranda LambertBrothers OsborneDan + Shay and actor Kiefer Sutherland, to ’90s hit makers Clint BlackSawyer Brown, and Terri Clark, to bluegrass favorites Del McCoury Band.

At his recent #1 party for “Woman, Amen” at Whiskey Row Nashville, Dierks confirmed the eclectic lineup is by design.

“It’s really exciting to be able to create a festival of the music you like, from country to bluegrass to nineties country. I think the last time I was on this stage I was singing with the Hot Country Knights,” Dierks recalled, referencing his ’90’s country cover band.

He continued, “I think what’s most satisfying to me is the journey — not necessarily when it’s over, just working with my team to come up with ideas, and just all hands on deck to push this thing forward.”

Dierks admitted he’s been intimately involved in even the smallest details.

“This is brand new. This festival thing is crazy to me. I’ve never done one before,” he explains. “It has an element of risk, which is exciting.”

“You get a chance to go crazy on the details,” he went on. “And the sign of success for us will be just what fans say. We’ve just put the fan experience at such a premium, obviously the music and all that, but down to location and access to ice.”

He added, “And I’ve said this many times…’Make sure there’s more Porta Potties for girls than for guys.’ I think that’s a pretty good sign that you’re thinking about your fans out there.”

The first-ever Seven Peaks Festival wraps up on Sunday, ahead of the Labor Day holiday.
