Izard County School District announces new teachers

Izard County Consolidated School District has announced the hiring of six new teachers for the 2018-2019 school year. The new teachers include Isaac Blankenship, Jared Johnson, Ashley Johnson, Teresa Jones, Molly Taylor and Manda Jackson.

Blankenship will teach agriculture, serve as the advisor for Future Farmers of America (FFA) and the livestock team and will serve as a co-sponsor of the seventh grade class. Jared Johnson will teach agriculture, elementary physical education and will lead the school’s shooting sports and fishing teams.

Ashley Johnson will teach elementary and middle school art, as well as early childhood special education. Additionally, Johnson will serve as co-sponsor for the seventh grade and will handle elementary interventions.

Jones will teach in fifth grade and Taylor will teach fourth grade, while Jackson will teach computer/business and yearbook classes. Jackson will also assist with public relations, serve as co-sponsor for the tenth grade and be advisor for FBLA and Builders Club.
