Yellville woman injured in RV crash

A Friday evening accident in Ripley County, Missouri has left one area resident with injuries.

According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 84-year-old Elbert K. Sweet of Yellville was driving on Missouri Route 142 when he failed to stop at a stop sign. As a result, the vehicle left the roadway, struck a fence and then the ground, coming to rest east on Missouri Route 21.

No injuries were reported for Elbert Sweets, however moderate injuries were reported for the passenger of the vehicle, 82-year-old Geneva Sweet or Yellville, who was taken via ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

The vehicle, a 2002 Volkswagen RV, incurred minor damage at the time of the 9:20pm accident.
