The weather in the Twin Lakes Area during August was pretty normal with no record high or low temperature or rainfall recorded at the KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot studios, the official reporting station in Mountain Home for the National Weather Service. Through the first eight months of the year, the area is quite a bit ahead when it comes to rainfall.

Rainfall was recorded 13 days in August which gave us a total of 3.21 inches. The heaviest rainfall was the 20th when 79 hundredths of an inch of rain was recorded. The 3.21 inches means we were 62 hundredths of an inch ahead for the month as the normal rainfall for August, statistically the driest month of the year, is 2.59 inches.   For the year to date, 31.62 inches of rain has fallen in Mountain Home. The normal rainfall through the first eight months of the year is 28.51 inches meaning we are 3.09 inches ahead for the year.

We had 15 days with highs of 90 or above in August but the warmest temperature was only 95 which was recorded August 6th. The coolest temperature was 62 on the 1st and again the 23rd.
