Sony Music NashvilleKane Brown‘s sophomore album will be called Experiment, and the “What Ifs” hitmaker admits that’s a fitting title, especially when it comes to his current single, “Lose It.”

“I feel like it’s very different,” he says of the record’s lead single. “It’s got a little fiddle that we didn’t have on the debut album at all, or any of my music that I’ve ever released.”

“Then we have, like, a Lynyrd Skynyrd guitar on there,” Kane contnues. “To me, it’s just a very fun song that has a bunch of different melodies…My main go-to was, every time I go in a country club, I always see people two-stepping to all these types of music. So I feel like it’s a song you can just get in and two-step to.”

Kane confesses that building on the platinum-selling success of his self-titled debut is rather daunting.

“It’s very scary, because I feel like my debut album did better than what I expected,” he explains. “So now… I feel like I have to top that.”

“It’s making me grow as an artist, which I love, but it’s also making me a lot more picky,” Kane goes on. “You know, I sang these songs that [were] on my last [record] for over a year now. So if I’m gonna sing these next ones for over a year, I want ’em to be special to me, or just be fun at least for the crowd.”

“And I’m really just working my tail off trying to get these songs good,” he resolves.

Kane’s second effort, Experiment, will be available to pre-order Friday at midnight, along with the new track, “Homesick.”
