Capitol NashvilleAs we enjoy the final days of summer, there’s at least one reminder of the warmer days that will soon be gone: Luke Bryan‘s hit, “Sunrise, Sunburn, Sunset.”

The CMA Entertainer of the Year nominee has been watching the third single from What Makes You Country grow ever since his multiple week #1 “Most People Are Good” topped the chart.

“It’s always really interesting for me to watch a new song come out,” Luke says, “and people kinda know it, and then when it becomes a big hit, to watch ’em start really singing it back to me. Yeah, it’s morphed into a big ole summery anthem,” he concludes.

The Georgia native recalls he instantly knew “Sunrise, Sunburn, Sunset” would find a place in his catalog.

“I loved the song the first time I heard it,” Luke remembers. “I felt that it was a big hit, and I just love watching the fans out there with their drink up in the crowd singing it.”

“And I love the underlying story about the song too,” he continues. “It’s… a love story about youth, you know, falling in love in the summer.”

Monday in Nashville, Luke plans a free concert to celebrate the opening of his 32 Bridge Food + Drink honky tonk on Music City’s Lower Broadway.
