LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) – A Central Arkansas man is being accused by authorities of attacking his wife after she confronted him on a highway about text messages he had received from another woman.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports 51-year-old Brian Bell of Cabot has been charged with third-degree domestic battery.

Police say that on Wednesday afternoon, Bell and his wife were driving east on Interstate 40 in north Little Rock when she grabbed his phone.

After Bell threw the phone in the backseat, his wife climbed into the back and continued reading the messages.

Police say Bell pulled over and dragged his wife out of the vehicle in a headlock.

Police say after his wife broke free, Bell got into the vehicle and drove away.

Pulaski County court records didn’t list an attorney for Bell.
