Baxter County Fair kicks off Tuesday

One of the Twin Lakes Area’s most anticipated events is this week. The annual Baxter County Fair begins its five-day run Tuesday and continues through Saturday.

Secretary of the Baxter County Fair Board Konnie Coleman says the board is excited for the start of this year’s fair.

Though the first day of the fair is Tuesday, Coleman says it’s the fair parade which truly kicks off fair week.

Coleman says without the efforts of the vendors and local volunteers, the fair wouldn’t be possible.

The carnival will be open from 5:00 until 9:30. Tuesday night’s gate admission between 5:00 and 8:00 will be $1 for anyone age 6 or older. Throughout the remainder of the fair, the cost will be $5, and children under 6 can get in free all week.

Discount carnival tickets can be purchased at the Baxter County Fair Office, Mountain Home Chamber of Commerce, Baxter Health Care, Arvest Bank, First Community Bank, Integrity First Bank, First Security Bank, Nosari Home Mortgage, Town and Country Discount Foods, Hartland Pharmacy and in Gassville at Genuine Care Pharmacy. Additionally, volunteers will sell advanced tickets Tuesday at school campuses in Mountain Home, Cotter, Norfork, Flippin and Calico Rock, as well as at Small World and Precious Garden pre-schools in Mountain Home.

Entertainment will provided the each evening Wednesday through Saturday on the outdoor stage. This year’s entertainment features several special guests, including After Grace on Thursday from 7:00 until 9:00, Eastern Heights on Friday from 7:00 until 9:00 and the Melodikats on Saturday from 7:00 until 9:00.
